I can't see us installing and maintaining a centrally governed regime. This is by nature a fractuous country with a clan based culture. This is like pushing mud with a pointy stick.
Even the Pakistanii government, the same religion, gave up on trying to rule its own NWF provence.
The Afghans are not going to become like us.The British and Russians tried and failed at the peak of their empires. At what point will we go home?
I think it would be better to leave them to their own way of life but tell them not to be involved in or support activities outside of their borders or we will come back and pour death on them from the sky.
