This has to be one of the worst comments I have read on hc in a long time. To do a renovation yourself, could alone cost thousands of dollars on tools just before you can start. In most trades, it takes many years of schooling and practice just to be competent. Unlike the purchasing shares in the stockmarket, not everyone can be a tradesmen so I would not complain about the money they make.
