@alonso I must dig out 'Rififi' again - remember it was something about a burglary -
Similar name, different story - my first experience with French on TV was the children's cartoon 'Kirikou' or similar, a charming cartoon about a dark-skinned very short boy (Tom Thumb) in Africa - for children . . . Then also a series about a Maremma dog in the mountains of France.
Now I can watch an entire film in French and understand most of it.

Wow - you a boy soprano - - - I was in the Children's Choir of the City of Vienna for a number of years - great fun one big event was 1000 children singing together in the Wiener Konzerthaus - have photo, but cannot see myself in the 'sea of children's faces'. That's where I first learnt some complex songs and also a very temperamental 'conductor' who should not have been in charge of children, still remember his outbursts.
A classical education like yours would have been the envy of my youth, alas working-class parents - but I did learn the piano and finished up with musically educated children, too - one became a professional musician, another is still a hobby musician, only number three has given up on music - very sad, it would do her the world of good. I still tickle the ivories, no longer professionally. -
Can I ask: where did you go to school? If you feel, you don't want to answer this, I understand.
    go well
