Thank you rr, I broadly agree, (and I’ve been putting my SMSF money where my mouth is, into both thermal and met coal, because I’m convinced that some form of nuclear energy is the ONLY viable LT option for the unlimited 24/7 baseload power that our modern civilisation will always demand. But that is decades away under current Labor/Green diktat.
HOW can any thinking person believe that importing all our short-lived solar panel and wind generators from totalitarian despot-for-life Xi Jinping - who is personally directing the construction of new coal-fired power plants about weekly, using OUR high-purity coal and iron, the export income on which OUR economy is now largely dependent - will vitally contribute to saving the world’s climate?
And even the 10-20,ooo km of new 500KV trunk power lines we now have to fund will mostly be imported from China, certainly all the costly aluminium-steel cables themselves! (Copper that we can produce isn’t used in these powerlines now, and Al is uncompetitive to produce here because of our disastrous power policies.)
