And how can you have an effective Government with upper clase twits running the Liberal party, pandering to business and MBA financial types, where MONEY is the only currency that matters?

One would have thought that the GFC was yet again another clear indication that business and financial types are not paragons of wisdom, that financial markets are basically corrupt and the whole system of finance does not deserve it current standing in the world?

Just look at the vested interests squealing about their profits, about being "overly" regulated - yeah trust us, we know what we're doing! The hype over the government not being "accountable", with decisions being made unilaterally, etc., are poison but business doing the same? that's different, that justified.

BTW, Paul Howes is impressive. He works for his members, no denying that, but I can't comment on the political influence he may have. However, the funny thing is that the business groups through lobbyists, advertising and sometimes subtle behind-the-scenes pressures can achieve the similar but opposite goals and no-one seems to mind that - its different somehow, but is it?
