Tried to put a reply in on this thread earlier, must have got lost in transit. However I would like to put a few thoughts down. Many people here are more than happy to see KR removed from office, but he was only after all one member of government, not the total. Do we hold him personally responsible for all of the adverse effects over the past two years? does this mean he must also get all the credit? I pity Mr Rudd, he will not only be villified by liberals of all types, but his own party must now demonise him to excuse it's unexcusable behaviour. Yes the rspt was poorly managed, no it was not well thought out and arguably the wrong time for its implementation. But seriously, what government ever releases a tax policy two years before its implementation? Did it make mining shares plunge? Slow down US economic activity? Cause the european Piigs debacle? Or even force so many Shareholders to down sell stock even when there was good news? I think many of us should take a re-appraisal of ourselves. Yes I hold severaql resource stock, for the long term, times are tough all over and likely to remain so. Tighten your belts and get used to it. In the twenties people thought the party would last forever, not so.
Another thing I read in these forums was that Kevlar Kev did not show emotion, he was a robot. Yet when he did, he was attacked as not being manly enough, or just another crying labourite. What BA;derdash, I suppose robert Maxwell did the Liberal thing by walking off his motoryacht rather than face embezzlement charges.
The great shame that I feel today is more than just MR Rudds fall from grace, but rather that this country is run by the few for the few, no matter which party is in power.
Remember that as we trade, we still need a country to live in. I for one beleive that this country has been tarnished by todays actions.
I will never vote labor again, as they have not grown up. I do not beleive I will vote LIberal, as they can't grow up. Bring on the independents, or Harvey Norman for President!
