Yes, I have been aware of the Prechter view regarding futures trading cessation etc for a long time.

It certainly seems to me that a growing disquiet over, first short selling and then derivatives which are geared obviously, is growing and as things get worse then the blame has to be placed somewhere and THEY, the regulators, will become convinced that gearing should be outlawed, that shorting is bad, and only long term investment is beneficial.

I think they have a point to a degree, but removing futures etc., will be counter productive BUT we may see it at the nadir of the cycle.
