I suggested the other day that perhaps we could predict political events because of market cycles.
Well here goes.
Labor wins the next election!
Why?
Papers are suggesting Labor will probably call for a late Aug election.
My prediction has been for a rally from now or mid July into Aug 23.
Perhaps that rally is based on the idea of the Libs winning and thus better for markets but Labor wins and so we then decline into Oct or Dec etc.
Or is it that new policies are announced leading into an election from either/both sides that seem better, but the euphoria subsides as soon as the results are known.
If the election is held at a different time, you can probably bet it will be close to one of our key timing dates.
