It doesn't compare vaccinated with unvaccinated. It compares unvaccinated with uninfected. The numbers in each cohort were not balanced. Only a small proportion of the unvaccinated were admitted to hospital and reporting severe impairment.
The best evidence is said to come from properly randomized trials. Please show me the evidence from the original RCTs that the Covid vaccines reduced the risk of long Covid or any severe outcome.
The gold standard PE for any drug is all-cause mortality followed by all-cause morbidity. What's the point of a therapy that might reduce the risk of a severe outcome from Covid if it puts you in hospital for a different cause?
