Yes, being granted a $US9.2 billion conditional loan, gives Ford the wherewithal to dominate new business in North America.
By comparison GM was granted a loan of $US2.5 billion.
Ford have been handed a virtual blank cheque.
This presents them with the best opportunity they have had since Henry started producing Model Ts.
