It's not so much how they appear, but what they're writing.
Greg Craven is a high-profile lawyer (KC from memory) campaigning for the 'Yes' side. His heart is really into the Voice, but his mind has reservations. He's written plenty of articles for The Australian - a clear thinker, and very good at getting to the nub of complex topics.
He was quite clear in advocating for a strong change to the wording to get the Opposition, and the general public, back onside. In the absence of such change, he states that the referendum is doomed. He's now unfortunately reduced to making a plea to the public on more abstract, motherhood grounds. Fair enough, but he's become a soft target in doing so.
Leeser was advocating for additional wording to the Amendment, prior to passage through Parliament, to address the main stated fears of the 'No' camp. Both these gentlemen were responding fearfully to the poor trend showing in the polls.
Scott - take up a subscription to The Australian. That way you can't be thought of as a "one-legged man in an arse kicking contest" (to quote Charlie Munger). The 'Yes' contributors won't bite you, I promise.
