It is ironic that every sceptic of Govt policy these days is being branded a “conspiracy theorist” when it is absolutely clear that logic plays no part in major policy moves of late, including this energy transition push. Cart before the horse when it comes to almost everything.

In addition to lights/heating, another example that springs to mind is EVs. Worldwide we’ve got govts rolling out rebates & subsidies for electric vehicles when in almost all cases the national electricity transmission & distribution grids are wholly incapable of handling incoming demand as it is. They can barely cope with everybody running AC’s in their homes and offices on a hot day in summer, let alone handling 2-3 cars per household in every street hooked up to a charger each night. And what happens in a weather or bushfire catastrophe when lines go down for days if not weeks - presently people can’t even pay for food without electronic payment systems up and running. New Zealand was a perfect example after a recent damaging cyclone there - I read countless first hand accounts of people in provincial cities being unable to communicate, shop for the basics, access cash, or access services because of the power outages from transformers buried under metres of water and silt. No infrastructure backstops in place for any of it - everything was powered by electricity which was out for days. Now the policy wonks want to make sure people cannot move around or travel anywhere in these situations too!

People know all of the buzzwords but seem to be fully anaesthetised from the reality of what’s coming down the line at pace!
