For those aching for a dividend, try and think about what the ex-dividend share price would be and then ask yourself whether you really want a dividend. If you want a dividend, sell some of your shares and you won't have to pay income tax unlike the dividend.
To be contemplating things like dividends at this stage when global markets are shaky, deal is not water-tight is very counting-chickens-before-they-hatch-like. Each 0.1c improvement in the share price is worth more to me as a shareholder than a one-off dividend.
Think what they could do with the extra cash. I don't think management will be putting it in a term deposit to earn interest for very long. They will or should be looking at growing the company. Buying some cheap producing assets would be good.
