Sorry , perhaps someone else can put it in clearer terms.
But bottom line , you don't need profits to pay dividends. And you can acquire franking credits by buying companies with an excess. Or simply by organising an accounting profit which I was trying to demonstrate ( obviously badly) with the above example..
