Unwittingly, Gillard has given the mining companies the upper hand. She HAS TO GO TO THE POLLS this year - her word - and is obviously hoping for a late August election, capitalising on her feminity and ability to attribute any past blunders to Rudd alone. Upon attaining this agreement, Gillard will immediately call an election
The mining companies have the power over her - not the other way round. If they have any sense, they will hold out against her. She will not last if she does not get this tax through ...
