. To me the closest equivalent dismissal is handled ball. This has been compared to other circumstances where batsman are out of their crease and the keeper attempts a stumping, but not generally where the ball was considered dead (erroneously) by the batsman. In the late 1970's Australian batsman Andrew Hilditch caught a return from a Pakistani fielder and returned the ball to the bowler, only to have the bowler appeal for him to be dismissed handled ball...which he was. It's a dismissal that's not part of a genuine cricketing contest but based on the naivety of one of the players around the rules.
