Lets be clear imo only, starlink will be an imperative leo satellite constellation for Australia and the US etc.
It will provide real time connectivity thru laser optics as its rolled out eg satellites modified with laser/rf hybrid terminals. .
Laser being real time as in light speed but with same issues as 5g.
Its more secure than RF because the beam in thinner massive increase in bandwidth and latency..
I would suggest hyperone, tls's $1.5b in major city fibre connection investment and Vocus/MAG have /will have teleports connecting these networks which tls has already stated they have re one web,but to starlink. .
imo only the major attraction to Elons constellation is for reliable, low latency massive bandwidth ,secure satelite communications.
Something Marles does not see as a priority re Australian defense so cut our space budget..
The US military has approx 140 leo satellites,Elon has 4,000 or 10,000 with plans for 40,000 to 60,000.China has as posted 100,000 or 150,000 leo satellites.
A US Admiral used starlink for drone connectivity not something starlink was designed for,go figure.
The Ukraine military who have access to starlink used it for reasons starlink was not designed for,go figure.
Plenty of development in the leo sector by Elon who also provides RACV services to space infrastructure.Satellite replacement etc
leo and meo are the future for earth ,with geo latency comes into play.
Having said that the IT co that can provide the access to starlink combined with IT services on time within budget will be the big winners.DTL,MAQ etc telstra thru tls purple ?
This is not about some guy living in remote Australia that wonts internet access imo only.
