This is what it's all about - enhancing life and enjoying the spoils with the family eventually.
I said to my daughter 18 months ago I would buy her first car (a very nice late model MINI) - my friends and neighbours were horrified - making their kids scrap and save for years for their first car - which is fine - each to their own.
But I had one condition - she had to invest all her spare savings and a good chink of her ongoing part-time job earnings (she works hard) with "Dad securities and Investments". To give her some comfort I have underwritten any losses - so she got pretty motivated!!
She is 18 and in her first year of Uni - and has her own wheels and is gaining some independence.
She now has a $20K share portfolio (mostly Lithium with some PLS of course).
The original goal was $50K by the end of Uni, and we have now doubled that goal to $100K in 3.5 years for a first home deposit.
The neighbours and friends can't believe she is well on her way to a house deposit after 1 Trimester at Uni!!.
With a bit of luck I'll also be able to chip in a little for her purchase in due course thanks to PLS and other great stocks.
