Hagetaka has a habit of saying some truly horrible things, as well as being factually and demonstrably incorrect.
Whilst he says the Russian invasion (and for whatever reason he puts invasion in quotation marks as if he thinks the killing of civilians is justified) had nothing to do with the coal price rise, that is demonstrably incorrect. Yes coal prices were rising prior, but only reached a high of $225USD. Russia had antagonising operations throughout the beginning of 2022. The third week of February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine, the coal price went from $225 to $400, before retreating back to $260, then stabilising at $400 for a few months. Energy security and lack thereof was exacerbated by the Russian/Ukraine conflict. Again, he is demonstrably wrong to say this.
Then there's his anti-science stance which is a whole other area where, once again, he is demonstrably incorrect, and cannot accept being wrong.
