Dalek its nots worth going on about building costs, I tried to say how much things cost and most just say how over paid the industry is. The funny thing is none of the other posters would go to work for nothing why do the expect anyone else to either is beyond me. Or how expensive land is when they want sewers, power, infrustcture, parks, roads, footpaths, leveling, soil tests, surveys, town planning, taxes and the list goes on. No one wants a 16 sq 3 bed dog box. Most homes now have family room, thearte room, powder room, ensuite, study, indoor outdoor area, double garage, at least ceasar stone benches, Ilve ovens. full ac and central heating. not only that 6 star rating, and C-bus. It all adds up. Funny thing is we have the cook the baker and the candle stick maker saying its to dear, yet its alright to charge 3 or 4 dollars for a coffee, $5 for a loaf of bread and $20 for a candle, but thats different I suppose because its going in to there pocket.
