    Any arguement which possibly suggests or hints that people don't vote for the Prime Minister is weak. Labor got rid of Rudd as they knew the people didn't want him as Prime Minister and they would probably lose the election if he stayed in that position. I would love to hear a politician publicly state the people don't choose the Prime Minister, the party does.

    It is clear that the people ultimately decide who the Prime Minister is, not the party or people from one electorate. If the people don't like the leader, the party will get rid of them end of story.

    Again it is clear that you are in the minority by stating

    "Paul Keating left the country in excellent shape by 1996"

    If that's the case why did the people throw him out?
