Former Sigma Defense Exec David Huisenga to Lead DTC’s North American Business

David Huisenga, former chief strategy officer at Sigma Defense Systems, has been appointed executive vice president and general manager of North American operations.


Huisenga has more than two decades of experience in communications system integration efforts for defense customers, DTC said Wednesday.

At Sigma Defense, he was responsible for the company’s go-to-market strategies for Joint All-Domain Command and Control, DevSecOps and C2, computers, communications, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.
He previously led Klas Government as president and CEO for almost nine years and held leadership positions on the National Defense Industrial Association’s Washington D.C. chapter.
His industry experience includes various roles at Merlin International, Cobham Antenna Systems, Mission Mobility, Dataline and Science Applications International Corp.
Huisenga worked at the U.S. Navy and its SPAWAR Systems Center earlier in his career.

DTC brings in new North American leader

Domo Tactical Communications makes this key hire nearly two years after it got a new owner.

Wireless technology company Domo Tactical Communications has hired a new leader for its North American operations in David Huisenga, a two-decade veteran of the defense industry.
Huisenga will hold the titles of executive vice president and general manager in his new role at DTC, which was acquired by Australia-headquartered Codan Communications in the spring of 2021. DTC operates as a subsidiary of Codan.
“Appointing David to lead our North America offices expands our ability to support the security needs of our customers globally,” Codan's president Paul Sangster said in a release Wednesday.

DTC creates mesh networks with multiple antennas that stream data between devices across a network that is designed as self-forming and self-healing. By purchasing DTC, Codan sought to have a revenue base in highly cleared programs across the U.S. government and "Five Eyes" intelligence alliance, which is comprised of the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United Kingdrom.
Huisenga's career prior to DTC includes roles such as chief strategy officer at Sigma Defense and chief executive at Klas Government.
