The war I am talking about is with NATO. Ukraine has always been just a pawn. It seems the residents of the four regions regard themselves as Russian. Any use of tactical nukes in Ukraine is fraught with risk of a US first strike. That puts the Russian deterrent at risk. This war that was supposed to be an existential war for Russia, is looking like an existential threat for us. I just hope nobody does anything stupid, like admitting Ukraine to NATO.
