Our original IXHL ADR’s listed on Nasdaq @ $10USD ea.
1 ADR = 25 IHL
Was valued @ time of listing; IXHL = $10.00, IHL = $0.40c
Now valued - IXHL = $1.90 (-81%) IHL 0.11c (-72.50%)
The thing that pisses me off, is we’re doing it all over again. Seemingly for the sole purpose to make the share price look more attractive to NEW investors.
For example, if you currently own 100,000 units of IHL @ purchase price of 0.10c, every 1c movement in share price on the ASX right now equates to $1,000 profit or loss, depending on what direction it moves. Movements of 0.05c a day ($5,000 profit) is absolutely realistic & happens nearly daily.
After this consolidation, instead of owning 100,000 units - you will own 1,000 units at a new cost-base of $8 USD.
What’s a realistic daily movement you’d expect on an $8 share?
0.20c up/down? 1,000 x 0.20 = $200 profit movements. It would need to move an entire $1.00 in a day to give the same profit as a 0.1c movement does right now (using the above share unit quantities as an example).
Sure, in the event of a complete buy-out - where the overall market cap / value of the company is the factor - the overall figure might be the same. But, in terms of daily ups and downs, it changes things drastically. It also affects the risk/reward basis many people may have considered when originally buying into IHL on the ASX.
For people who purchased a modest amount at a low price, the share price did not need to move too much to reap the benefits.
After this consolidation, if we still hold, it seems our only option is banking on a massive success of the company, or a buyout, to get close to what was possible with the larger multiples (number of share units you own) in play - and as you’ve seen with the ADR’s going from $10USD down to $1.90, the notion that the US values things differently seems a bit hollow.
Not to mention the clear intentions of the company to raise capital (dilute shareholders further) on the Nasdaq in future.
I’m trying not to be negative, but this does throw a spammer in the works for my personal investment strategy with this share, as I’m sure it does others.
I’ll stick around and see where it takes me, as I don’t feel like selling my current holding at a loss, but I don’t know if I’ll personally be putting anymore $$$ into this company - I’ll sit it back, let it get inevitably diluted, and pray for the ever elusive buyout to actually eventuate one day, before they morph into an AI company or whatever’s on rotation next.
