I don't think you can use these particular figures alone as a signal to purchase.
Personally I am watching for a few signals:
rent/purchase cost ratio income/purchase price ratio
Also looking out for the ability to positively gear with minimal deposit in metro area. Hoping to lock in longer term at lower interest rates than we have today.
Personally I think the time to buy is a good few years off yet.
