Nice One Starbust and Tks too to Spider11 for prompting SBs response :))

Starbust... FWIW your "A more appropriate count for me is the low completed 5 waves down, and the advance up from there is 5 waves up for wave (a) and we are going down for wave (b) then a move up for wave (c) before we resume the next impulse wave down."
strikes harmonics with what I am seeing on the SPI... Specifically the potential for current wave to complete and perhaps provide a dynamic (c) to capture some good upside prior to a somewhat snappy retrace back to the bottom of (a)... all tying in to the greater cycle stuff of a good ish year next year bopping back down to a longer term low in 2013.

The other potential count you propose "Another count is as above except the 5 wave advance from the low is an impulse wave. This means after an abc correction, we will head much higher for another impulse wave (ie, bull market). As typical with EW, it's often only of any real value in hindsight :-)"
is again a possibility that strikes high on my potential future moves list.

Of interest here to me though is if one looks at both these possible and "correctly counted/interpreted" scenarios... they BOTH providing scenarios of SOME reasonable upside once this current down wave, be it (b) (First scenario) or corrective abc to be fully retraced and begin bull (second scenario).

Suggesting to me that my current hunting expidition on the spi, for signs of completion of current down wave, whatever form it may be, to strike for upside capture once complete, has a certain validity...with as minimum a good (c) up and enough time to figure if 'tis a new bull and either exhibit caution near (c) completion or sit back n let the possies grow.

    Like It!

    ;)

N for the record I am but a dabbler in EW at this stage, certainly unwilling to delve into the sub numbering in its correct format... something to slowly build on over decades for me.

N for the other record, I am NOT long oriented yet... as per yesterday's post with not much changed since.

    ;)
