there is a massive difference though logco.... in your case the intent was to provide work for thousands of people who would otherwise become unemployed due to the GFC. the legislation to ensure regulation was inadequate but not illegal and those deaths were not caused by the direct actions of the politicians.
in Robodebt the politicians deliberately designed a means of persecuting the most vulnerable who were already unemployed. the intent was to force a reduction in the already extremely impoverished state of these people, many of whom owed nothing. the effect of the Gov action caused at least 3 people to take their own lives.
