Anyway, I digress. The top article mentions the disbanding of political parties with ties to Russia, I expect that would be normal during a time of war? Could you imagine what the Australian government would do with political parties that had genuine ties to say China or Russia?
The second article says, " Poroshenko, 56, is being investigated for alleged treason linked to the financing of Russian-backed separatist fighters through illegal coal sales in 2014-15. He could face 15 years in prison if convicted. His party accused Zelenskiy of a reckless attempt to silence political opposition."
are these trumped up claims? I don't know, as far as the article says I don't think he was actually imprisoned? Not at the time of that article anyway.
