The counter offensive was never meant to be a D-day type offensive. Ukraine are slowly moving on Bakhmut and believe it or not if Bakhmut falls back into Ukrainian hands then Putin is finished. Ukraine does not have to take it all back yet, just Bakhmut and watch what happens.
