The company may have enough cash to pay people now, but if the Directors reach a point where they strongly believe the cash will run out, they are obliged to place the company in Administration before it gets to that point. I suspect this is where KLL is right now, and they will be scrambling to secure more funding before 31 July. If they do, then they live to fight another day, but if they don’t…we’ll you know what happens.
Most likely employees will have been leaving in droves given the uncertainty. There are plenty of mining jobs around so why waste your time staying at a project with an uncertain future? Equally, why would someone looking for a new job join a project with an uncertain future? The number of KLL job vacancies on Seek may be more representative of the level of staff turnover than anything else ATM.
