Angle measurements in degrees between the horizon and Polaris are the latitude lines (or parallels) north of the equator.

How can they be equidistant if we are on the surface of a sphere?

(Some speculate that Antarctica is the outer ring or edge. I don't know, and am not making that positive claim.)
