it sounds complex, and they could drag it out forever sadly. it could depend on who has the money to support the legal lenght of case.

i have a friend with a tenant in a small commerical rental. tenant had no lease, just month to month rent.
landlord did all sort of favours for tenant, reduce rent, led off paying bond, let tenant off paying required water usage among many other things, tenant often late wiht rent or non payment as such, (tenant had booming successufl business.
but was not complient with regulations to operate business- ie gov guidelines..
it took over 1.3 years to get tenent out, and not with much expence to landlord. tenent got a no win no pay lawyer ... who pressue landlord to pay tenent to get out. the legal system and process gave that lawyer an avenue to string things out alghouth legally the tenant had no grounds at all to stand on,absolutely nothing- other than delaying exit due to the comfort of the legal system.
while MEU is not same but is similar in that, it can put pressure on us re $ investeed to get a result for Barton which may never come in the form we may want, hopefully we get a no win no pay legal team- lots of incentive for them to win and quick.

at best we get large pay out if they can pay? and maybe they give us the tenement too...but think i prefer them to hold on and just pay
