Your statement about the obvious effectiveness is a little premature.
As for the trials. There will be many people aware of the accuracy of the technology during the trial: especially all the doctors involved. While they only have anecdotal observations and not overall sensitivity and specificity they will have a view and could buy or sell accordingly
