People here are spending way too much complaining about the buyback strategy when the real question we should be asking is why is there continuous selling pressure?

Some of the major issues which I see with BRK:

    1. Changing the perception of the company as a penny stock
    2. Extremely weak shareholder register. Mostly unsophisticated retail investors who are looking for a quick profit which is causing the relentless selling. This is why SP never stabilises following good news
    3. No strategy in place post monetisation. Bradbury AOI is a great side project but should not be the main focus if we are looking to generate interest from the market. We are not exciting like the explorers and too small to be giving dividends like the majors

1 and 2 could potentially be resolved with a well executed deal for the monetisation. Hopefully its a sale (but its not looking likely at this stage), but this could force a re-rating and push the market cap at a new baseline which combined with a consolidation could make BRK more acceptable to institutional funds.

Keen to get your thoughts on all of this @danpech - I know you are a big proponent of building shareholder value but transferring that to shareholder returns is another beast which management need to figure out. So far they have built a great business but...
