They are talking about a voice to parliament... yep a Voice which should be apolitical. offering representations from all first Aussies to all of parliament, regardless of political leanings.

Had Dutton chosen to leave political leanings out of the discussion and support the apolitical debate, all pollies would have the choice to engage with their own views instead of toeing the Party line. but Dutton chose the Party ahead of the nation.

this is a matter of individual choice. a conscience vote would provide a better, more nuanced discussion without rancour, without sides.... and so enabled a truly democratic decision - instead we now have the LibNat coalition against the Voice while Albanese and the rest of parliament are abstaining from pushing a barrow and allowing a grassroots movement to provide the Yes! arguments.

I actually hope you're correct that Albanese will be in Opposition after the '25 election - but I want to see independents in the majority to form a Gov.

I imagine this will backfire on Dutton and the LibNats in '25 and reduce at least the Lib support.

we see things differently you and i. nothing wrong with this. it doesn't need to one political or adversarial.
