When you're comparing two wells with very different trajectory it's better to work in true vertical depth rather than along hole measured depth. This is the reason that log and other data that has been recorded using measured along hole depth is usually converted to true vertical depth when correlating wells across a field or a basin.

The along hole depth required to reach a particular horizon in Mk2 will be less than in M1 because of the shallower inclination and also the location of M2 well higher on the structure.
