All a myth S8, hydroponic crops are grown in the optimum fertisiler mix for each crop.
From a sustainability point of view hydroponics uses less fertiser as well with less nutrification of ground water & runoff to streams, whilst the plant receives the optimum nutrients, plus more veg or fruit can be produced than soil farming. Less & more targeted water use than soil based crops as well.
Pesticides use is often less via hydroponics as its more targeted.
