Tell that to the millions of Australians that do not have a garage to park their car in.
For someone who is wealthy enough to live in a house like that, wealthy enough to have solar, and wealthy enough to afford one up front, yeah, they are very easy to live with.

I've heard that being said for years.
In 2023, an EV is almost double the purchase price of an equivalent ICE vehicle.
