Butcherboy, We all have political and religous beliefs. Most people think that their beliefs are correct and their opponents are wrong.
However it is important to keep ones political belief seperate from your professional duty. Hence a judge should not try to advance his strongly held political belief while dispensing justice. In fact his duty might require him to reluctantly advance the cause of his political opponent.
A policeman may have a duty to protect, say, a communist even if he favours the anti communists.
Similarly I would say a scientist should equally portray facts and trends which support and oppose the AGW cause even if in his judgement one view is correct.
Teachers should advance arguments for both sides of politics and the AGW debate whatever their own view.
This has nothing to do with our different views on AGW. It concerns doing ones professional duty free from political or religous bias no matter how strongly those beliefs are held.
