Friend @Slykes gave a great explanation earlier this morning of what this means for IMU.

A standard IV abscopal effect can only occur where there is a good blood supply to allow the virus to reach the tumour. This partnership will enable them to deliver the virus to tumour types and locations where that is not the case.

I would like to add - there is one other category of “hard to treat” cancer: metastatic cancers developing inside the peritoneal cavity. Those cancers are also partially isolated from the rest of the body, which is why the City of Hope team has now done preclinical animal studies - trialling injection of CF33 into the peritoneal cavity.

And the results - recently published, and discussed here on Hot Copper - were very positive.

So IMU is simply positioning itself to deliver CF33 to cancers anywhere in the body. Would they be doing that if the current human trials in “easy to reach” tumours were a dud?

I don’t think so.

On the contrary - I read this as a very strong signal that CF33 is doing exactly what they expected.

And now they are ensuring that they can do it anywhere.
