I think it's actually the opposite... I think they are trying to work out a sound strategy to present to the market to regain confidence so the sell off isn't too big.
All major retailers have indicated that non-discretionary items have slowed. From Target USA to Walmart to Wesfarmers (Kmart) to Baby Bunting, they've all indicated the same thing.. punters are moving to necessity. Luxury retailers are doing well, but I don't think Nick Scali fits in that space. I think latest results will show Plush cannibalising Nick Scali sales as people trade down.
Nick Scali Share Volume traded in the last few weeks has been extremely thin....
Savings rates have collapsed to 15 year lows...
