At the end of the day who cares
EPFL hold the original DSC patent
11 or 13 companies were given DSC pioneer patents by EPFL on the provision that they constantly develop DSC .
There now appears to be only 5 left including Dyesol.
But Dyesol holds a raft of patents that the other 4 will have to pay licence fees on . The Patent issued a few months ago includes thin film , serial, parallel and tandem cells . There are 14 more variations this patent covers.
Any one using DSC will have to pay EPFL and one of the 5 original pioneer licencees a licence fees
Sylvia Tulloch/Dyesol appears to hold the overriding patent on CEGS( Combined Energy Generation and Storage device )
Gavin Tulloch/Dyesol holds a patent for making glass vary in opaqueness
Most of the ideas out there seem to be trying to get around DSC
- A dye is applied to the Glass and the energy flows along to the edge of the window where a silicon cell converts to electricity
- A hot electron lands on TIo2 and one day produce electricity ??
- Wires that are 90% efficient but no mention of annodes and cathode to convert light to electricity
etc etc
