I am slowly building a position in CBD Energy (ASX:CBD). The company has been around for quite a while and never made profit, but last year, mainly last six months, they have achieved number of major milestones.

They completed capital raising, completed restructure of their business, acquired profitable alternative energy installer eco-Kinetics, expanded existing factory of their fully owned subsidiary Capacitor Technologies (CapTech),to manufacture inverters that are currently in short supply world wide. eco-Kinetics has currently two major contracts one in Alice Spring and in Shepparton. They recently won another contract with Queensland electricity company Ergon Energy.

CBD received (in partnership with another company) government grant for a renewable energy project.

CBD recently completed wind energy project in New Zealand and will operate this facility for next 20 years, guaranteeing steady income stream from energy consumers.
Several wind projects are currently under way, another one about to be completed very soon.

CBD has several strategic agreements with overseas equipment manufacturers and energy producers, in West Germany and China. Also joint venture project in China.

Read the company announcement for the last 12 months, it is just a steady march to success. They also have a website, address is on the ASX announcements.

Company announced positive profit guidance for the current six month period and subsequently increased this guidance as more project are reaching completion and new projects are on the drawing board. There might even be a maiden dividend, but probably not this period.

One thing I really like about this company is that they keep the market well informed, there is plenty of announcements and share holders can track the company performance. Not like AJA where the announcements are few and far between.
