Each to their own, but I think this is nonsense and highlights a lack of understanding or at least and under appreciation of S2's background and shareholder base…S2’s top 20 hold ~60%, with Creasy, Jupiter, Paradice, management etc alone holding close to 50% of the register. As they say:“Unusually institutionalised register for an explorer reflects track record of making material discoveries.”
These institutional holders are backing the people (MB and Co) not the nearology! the fact that S2 finds itself with this opportunity is because of the people!
My guess (and it is just a guess, as is yours) is that many on here, particularly those who are long term holders from SIR or early S2, are in it because of the track record of the group. S2 started life stating it was hunting for elephants....they have stuck to that mantra by consistently testing, repositioning, testing again, and being quick to move on when significant discovery looked unlikely.
The company started life in October 2015....coming up to 8 years and in that time has only needed to go to market something like four times...not a bad effort when you consider the targets and projects that have been tested during that time.
If you had bought in 1 yr ago you would be up 26.7%, 5 years ago 90%.... since inception with no averaging down then roughly on par. But none of that matters if the reason you are backing it is for that Nova-Bollinger discovery type event.
No doubt there will be some holders that have jumped on just for the nearlogy ride, that is to be expected in this game, and who knows it might pay off (I hope it does).
