At the time, BOT's flagship product was a topical acne treatment, whose trial was heading toward completion. The SP was gauged around trial success.
The trial was successful! But... the US portion of the data results showed that the control treatment (placebo) was equally good as the drug.
We never heard why the placebo was a block buster drug, but assume it was a concoction mix up.
As such, the SP tanked.
