Just to clarify,

There has been a few misleading posts here regarding the summer holidays (shutdown) in Sweden.

Firstly, whilst the Swedes do in fact enjoy twice the annual leave of the average Australian, these dates are not fixed, and to imply that the whole of Sweden shuts down for the holiday period, is incorrect.

Actually, the closure of courts during the holiday period was abolished in 1997 (1st Jan)
So whilst many people obviously enjoy their holidays with children, ie: during the school break, this is not an essential break to the court or any other entity.

So whilst it is a given that there may well be some short staffing, I would suggest that this merely leads to a backlog as opposed to an entire closure period.

That said, it is still possible that we could get the long awaited result any day now, as they progress through the backlog.

I simply googled court vacation in Sweden.
