My understanding was that FFX lacked the capital to expand the tailings facility and to remove the tailings that were dumped into the pit. FFX indicated that they had tailings facility capacity for 2022, but not beyond. But here we are mid-way through 2023 and the mine still going strong. I wonder what has been done to address the tailings issue. From the satellite pictures, it does not appear the tailings repatriation project has started, so likely a revised mine plan is allowing them to get what they can without tailings repatriation, but at some time this still needs to be addressed.
