BOD have zero ability to manage SH expectations.
It's not what you say, it's what you do. If you're not going to do it or can't do it then don't say you will. And if you can't align your actions with what you're saying/promising or your SH are reasonably entitled to expect - then basic integrity would say don't stick your hands in for freebies.
Especially when your mum/dad/retail investors are hurting. It's very basic leadership and we're witnessing a very basic lack of leadership.
Someone said a little while back, BL might be good at mining but potentially not good at business. Probably heaps of IQ in the mining space but no EQ on display.
