that is true, but some of that is because global LICs charge hefty fees ,over 1% p.a.
I think a low fee global LIC with the backing of AFIC would attract enough support to see a lower discount ( or premium ).
And just because a LIC trades at a discount doesn't mean you can't do well from it.
AUI and DUI have traded at 5 -10% discounts for decades and yet have still delivered decent returns to investors
including very long track record of steady dividend growth and never reducing their dividends.
