    @JCoure

    Great posts by you both, middle stump, no referral to the third umpire.

    The banking sector (lead by the four majors) is the self-proclaimed poster child for free market and less Govt when it suits them. Can recall just before the GFC, the then CEO's and respective Chairmen (notable one NAB executive Don Argus being the most vocal), were out there publicly lecturing the then Rudd Labor Govt as to the need for less Govt and to get out of the way of the big 4's oligopoly. Just several weeks later, they were down there in Canberra demanding the usual bail outs by the taxpayers, and so done by the then Rudd Govt. Fast forward to the pandemic, who was out in front demanding more taxpayer assistance to avoid falling over with a highly leveraged mortgage business and questionable banking precises, yes you guessed the big 4 banks.

    As to the QAN shameful greed and incompetence bailed out to the tune of $2.7 Bn, at least it allowed some to wheel and deal in high value, luxury Sydney Harbour real estate.
